What Makes Island Lake Unique?
- Island Lake - 78-acre lake offers residents year-round recreation with fishing, swimming, boating and ice skating. The Fox River is another popular attraction for boating, water skiing and fishing. Recreational facilities and classes are also available through the village's Recreation Program.
- Eastway Park - is located on Eastway Drive north of Route 176. There is a boat launch, plenty of room for playing and picnicing. It is also where we hold our annual "LAKEFEST" (July 17th).
- Cotton Creek Marsh Nature Preserve -contains 247 acres of high quality wetland on the Fox River floodplain in the Northeastern Morainal Natural Division. Besides the marsh, the other natural communities present at Cotton Creek are sedge meadow, low gradient creek, wet prairie, fen and successional fields.
- Water Tower Park - is located on the south side of Route 176 east of River Road. Many functions are held here such as the Chamber of Commerce Carnivals and "Corn Fest" which is sponsored by the Island Lake Lions. On a good, windy day people can be seen here flying kites.
